“You have to be able to have long-range discussions with customers and nurture them for many months,” said Tony Krystofik, who directs the center for professional selling at the University of Dayton .
The approximate average age for a Gartner employee on the sales team in Fort Myers is 26. Walking into the cafeteria during the bustling lunch hour Thursday, it could easily be mistaken for the dining hall on a college campus. That youthful vibe is part of the appeal, and it can make the transition easier.
“It’s like being in college again, but you’re making 60, 70, 80, 100 thousand dollars,” Krystofik said.
